Adults and youth (14+)
I use an 'eclectic approach' in my counselling, drawing from a variety of modalities. I am trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Narrative therapy, Gestalt therapy and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique). I am trained in mindfulness, guided relaxation and somatic therapy. I incorporate a wide variety of techniques because there is no ‘one size fits all’ mode of therapy; every person and the stories they carry are complex and different. Thus, we will work together to design a therapeutic process that fits with your unique story and needs.

First, it is important to note from the outset, that I am Queer positive and work in the QTBIPOC communities. I have experience working within non-monogamous/open/poly(amorous, affective, fidelity) contexts. When considering couple/family counselling, it is important that everyone is open to the idea because it can be difficult work. Counselling with an intimate partner/s can be slow going but, usually, the goal is the development of a ‘communications toolkit’ that can be used in the longterm without further mediation. Couples/family counselling can also be valuable in the shorter term to resolve one or more specific conflicts or to break out of existing unhealthy dynamics thereby renewing respectful communication.
